Children's Ministries and Assimilation
FULL-TIME POSITION
Overview
We are seeking an Associate Pastor who will serve as our Children’s Pastor and lead all aspects of our children’s ministry with vision, structure, and biblical excellence. In addition, this pastor will oversee assimilation—helping guests take their next steps, guiding new attenders toward membership, and connecting people into ministries and meaningful involvement within the church. This role focuses on investing in children, strengthening spiritual growth, and creating a smooth pathway for people to become fully engaged members of Grace Baptist Church.
Primary Role: Children’s Pastor (Nursery–6th Grade)
Responsible for leading, directing, and vision-casting the entire Grace Kids ministry. Duties include:

Ministry Oversight

Oversee all children’s ministries from Nursery through 6th grade.

Lead Grace Kids worship on Sunday mornings.

Teach and participate regularly in children’s classes.
Weekly Programs
Grace Kids (Sundays):

10:00 AM Worship
-
11:15 AM Class (through 12:00 PM)
AWANA (School Year Program):
-
Wednesdays from 6:45–8:00 PM
-
Responsible for organizing, training leaders, and running the program.
Adventures Club (Summer Program):

Wednesday nights from 6:45–8:00 PM

Plan, organize, promote, and lead.
Major Summer Event
Vacation Bible School (Four-Day Event):

Direct oversight of planning, coordinating, developing, and executing VBS.

Recruit and train volunteers, develop theme, structure teaching flow, and run all sessions.
Discipleship & Follow-Up
-
Provide discipleship for children who have accepted Christ.

Maintain and run a workflow for baptism preparation and follow-up.

Communicate and meet with parents of children making spiritual decisions.
Baby Dedication Oversight
-
Coordinate and lead the baby dedication service.

Provide gifts and presentation materials.
-
Interact with parents and assist them through the process.
Program & Curriculum Development
-
Design and implement age-appropriate lessons and ministry events aligned with the church mission.

Research, select, and adapt curriculum for spiritual development and biblical teaching.
Volunteer Development
-
Recruit, train, schedule, and develop ministry volunteers.

Maintain healthy team culture and provide ongoing support.
Safety & Security
-
Ensure all children’s ministry areas follow safety protocols.

Oversee background checks and secure environments.
Parent Communication
-
Build strong relationships with parents.
-
Provide clear communication, ministry updates, and spiritual growth resources.
Administrative & Budget Responsibilities
-
Manage the children’s ministry budget.

Maintain attendance, records, schedules, forms, and ministry documentation.

Coordinate with church leadership to integrate children’s ministry into the broader church vision.
Secondary Role: Associate Pastor – Assimilation
Responsible for developing and managing the guest assimilation process, ensuring visitors become connected, discipled, and involved members of Grace Baptist Church.

Assimilation Responsibilities

Oversee and maintain all guest workflows and follow-up systems.

Conduct personal follow-up with guests through calls, texts, emails, and face-to-face interactions.

Guide guests into next steps, such as Baptism or Membership Matters class.

Work alongside pastoral staff to run the membership process smoothly.

Connect new members with serving opportunities within the church.

Track assimilation progress from first-time guest → returning guest → membership → involvement.

Build relationships with new guests through one-on-one conversations and follow-up meetings.

Ensure each new guest has a clear path to spiritual growth and community involvement.
Other Responsibilities
-
Provide specialized pastoral care when appropriate (funerals, hospital visits, weddings, premarital counseling, etc.)
-
Support, encourage, uplift, visit, and help those in need in our church and the broader community.

Preach and teach as needed.

Participate in weekly staff meetings and in the creative planning of special events with the Lead Team
-
Attend and/or serve at Grace functions as needed and participate and engage relationally in the life and ministry of Grace on Sundays and throughout the week

Other duties as assigned
